CHANNEL NOTATION

In x.1.z, x is the listener-level channel count, .1 is the programme LFE channel and z is the height-channel count. The separate subwoofer number is the physical array used to reproduce and smooth that bass energy.

Coverage and bass fields are planning visuals. Final placement, output, delay, crossover, isolation and treatment require room dimensions, construction data and calibrated on-site measurements. Headphone previews cannot reproduce a multichannel theatre.
